Matto’s story

Matthew “Matto” Traynor lost his battle with addiction on June 04, 2016. He was 25 years old.

Matthew had an unmatched love for the outdoors. An avid sportsman, he could be found hunting or fishing with his friends or family.

Following an overwhelming show of community support upon Matthew’s passing, the Traynor family felt compelled to take action and prevent addiction from taking lives. The family worked closely with Dakota Medical Foundation to establish a charitable fund in memory of Matthew. The Matto Foundation was established in 2016 with a mission to educate kids and families to delay, decrease, and defeat substance abuse and addiction in our community.

We, his family and friends, plan to empower and educate families and children in a collaborative effort to delay and decrease alcohol and substance use in our community and yours. We are on a mission to prevent addiction from stealing lives. Help us honor those who have also lost their life to the battle with addiction and substance use.
